Granada vs Getafe Predictions
- Granada have beaten third placed Sevilla (1-0) and drawn with sixth placed Osasuna (1-1) in their last two outings.
- Getafe are winless after ten league games, losing eight including a crushing 3-0 home defeat against fellow strugglers Levante on Monday.
- Granada have claimed seven points from the last three meetings between the sides.
Granada gaining confidence
Granada could be turning the corner after two superb results and Robert Moreno’s men can overcome bottom side Getafe this Thursday to potentially lift themselves out of the relegation zone.
Following the departure of successful boss Diego Martinez in the summer, Granada made a woeful start to the new season under Moreno, picking up just three draws from their opening seven matches.
But Nazaries finally got up and running on their penultimate start with an excellent 1-0 victory here over third placed Sevilla, and they battled their way to a satisfying 1-1 draw at sixth placed Osasuna on Friday, having been behind for most of the contest at El Sadar.
Confidence in the Granada camp should be markedly on the rise after those efforts, and they’ll be particularly bullish about beating Getafe this Thursday having claimed seven points from the sides’ last three encounters.
Getafe in tatters
Getafe have punched above their weight for many seasons in the Spanish top flight, but everything we’ve seen so far this term suggests that Los Azulones will do extremely well, even form this early stage, to avoid relegation.
The club look lost since Pepe Bordalas’ left for Valencia in the summer and his replacement Michel has already fallen by the wayside. Quique Sanchez Flores has returned for another spell at Coliseum Alfonso Perez, though things aren’t exactly going too well so far for the former Watford manager.
Getafe were crushed 3-0 at home to Celta Vigo on Monday night, their eighth defeat of the campaign, and they’re already six points adrift of the safety line going into Matchday 11.
We don’t expect things to get any better for them this Thursday, and Granada are backed to build further momentum via a 2-0 victory.
