Hartlepool vs Luton Predictions
Hartlepool have been disappointing so far in the league and despite pre-season hopes of a shot at the play-offs, they look set to have yet another season struggling at the wrong end of the table. Craig Hignett was impressive in his recruitment during the summer but he could not have planned for the trouble he has in centre defence at the moment. Following Scott Harrison’s dismissal performance at the weekend, coupled with injuries to other centre backs, he will have to draft together a defensive partnership for the visit of free-scoring Luton on Tuesday.
Luton were fancied to have another solid season in League Two but after nine games they look to be right in the fight for the title when the season reaches it’s climax. The Hatters have been scoring for fun and their return of 18 goals from nine games is the joint best in the division. Following Saturday’s 3-1 victory over title rivals Doncaster, Luton sit just three points off top spot with 16 points on the board. Danny Hylton’s suspension will be a big blow for them, however, as the striker has been a key part to their season so far.
This match pitches the league’s joint best attack against the worst defensive unit in League Two. Given that the sides have also averaged four goals per game over the last 12 meetings we feel fairly certain that there will be over 2.5 goals on Tuesday night. You can back this at 4/5 with bet365 and if you fancy a correct score tip then we like the look of a 3-1 away win.
