Hebei Cffc vs Liaoning Whowin Predictions

After winning promotion from the Chinese League One last season Hebei CFFC wasted no time in bringing in the big guns. They signed the likes of Gervinho, Gael Kakuta, and Stephane Mbia in the hopes that it would keep them in the Chinese Super League, and it’s left them in a very good position.

The newly promoted side enjoyed a storming first half to the season, and despite a major drop off in form they still find themselves up in 5th position in the Super League with 34 points from their 21 games so far. This leaves them just outside the top three on goal difference, although they are 15 points adrift of the leaders.

Hebei CFFC’s recent form will be a major concern though. They have lost six of their last eight games in all competitions and won just once, and with nine games still left to play if they don’t break out of this poor form soon they could find themselves significantly lower in the table than they would have hoped.

Liaoning Whowin don’t have the same spending power behind them as the top sides in the Chinese Super League, and as such they have become perennial mid-table finishers.

It looks to be more of the same this season, with them sitting in 10th position after 20 games with 25 points to their name. They do have a game in hand on some of the teams around them, but with a nine point gulf before they hit the top three it’s very unlikely that they can move much higher.

The visitors are in a much better spell of form than their hosts though. They have only lost two of their last nine in the Chinese Super League and have managed a respectable 17 points during this period.

Liaoning Whowin’s away games have become notable for the amount of goals in them. There have been 21 goals in their last five away days, with both teams scoring in four of them and at least three goals in four of them as well.

Hebei CFFC have kept just one clean sheet at home in their last six Super League matches as well, so I think odds of 4/5 for Both Teams to Score is an excellent value bet. I’m backing a high scoring 2-2 draw at 14/1 for my correct score prediction as well.
