Hibernian vs Motherwell Predictions

Hibs still licking their wounds

Hibernian recorded a much-needed win over at St Johnstone last weekend but were brought down a peg by Rangers in the week as they lost narrowly to the champions by a goal to-nil.

It’s now six defeats in their last seven league matches for the hosts and they have been beaten in each of their last three at Easter Road.

Hibs will be looking to regain their early-season home form where they picked up 10 points from a possible 12 in front of their own supporters. They kept three clean sheets in their first four league fixtures at hosts and have conceded an average of 1.2 goals per game so far this season. However, they have only scored the same number of goals as they have conceded (9) suggesting a low-scoring affair and I’m predicting a goal apiece in the correct score market given this season’s numbers.

Away woes hindering Motherwell’s rise

The visitors come into this game off the back of three wins from their last four fixtures which has lifted up to fifth in the table having gone five games without a victory throughout October.

The Well are six points above their hosts and one place further up the table but have played two games more and their away form has stalled their progress. They have lost three of their last four matches on the road and just 1/3 (8) of their overall points this season have come on their travels.

Motherwell have scored just four goals in their last five away games and as a result, I’m predicting under 2.5 goals. There is a little between them as things stand, taking into account the extra games Motherwell have played so go for a 1-1 draw here.
