Reason For Huddersfield vs QPR Predictions

  • In terms of points accumulated, Huddersfield are the worst home team in the Championship at present.
  • QPR are the Championship’s fourth worst team in terms of goals conceded per 90 on the road. They’ve shipped an average of 1.86.
  • QPR have conceded two or more goals in eight of their 14 away matches this season.

Terriers too close for comfort

Coming in after the season had already begun was always going to be tough, though Terriers fans may have hoped for better from their side under the stewardship of Danny Cowley. After 30 matches, Huddersfield find themselves near the dreaded drop-zone. Fortunately, there are three points between them and the team in 22nd. This match represents a good opportunity for the hosts to extend that gap.

In terms of points collected, Huddersfield are the worst home team in the division, but some of their recent home efforts have been pleasing. Cowley’s men have lost one of their last four at home and have avoided defeat against three top-ten teams, two of which are in the top six. Their recent win against Forest and their recent 0-0 draw against Brentford suggest that the Terriers can do well against a QPR side that aren’t much better off in terms of league position.

Away form a problem for R’s

All in all, it’s been a disappointing campaign for QPR, mainly because they started so brightly. At one point, it looked as though the R’s could keep themselves in the hunt for a top-six place, but they’ve been unable to do so and now find themselves sitting in a rather unflattering 16th position.

Playing away from home has been a big problem for QPR in recent times. Mark Warburton’s men have lost each of their last four travelling matches, conceding 11 and scoring five in the process. Offensively, they can certainly leave their mark, but they need to tighten up considerably at the back, that’s for sure.

Opportunity for hosts

Quite simply, this is a big opportunity for Huddersfield to record a third win in five home matches. Punters can profit by supporting the hosts to do just that. Not only have the hosts delivered some pleasing efforts against some good sides at this venue of late, but the visitors have struggled massively on the road. Having recently beaten Blackburn and drawn to Brentford, the Terriers are backed to get the better of a QPR side that has recently lost to the above pair on the road, conceding five goals in the process. The Terriers shipped just once against that duo. The hosts extra defensive nous can make all the difference on Saturday.

‘Correct Score’ punters are pointed in the direction of a 2-0 home win. QPR haven’t been shut out all that often on the road but they’ve scored just two goals in their last 27 minutes of travelling football, while the hosts have shipped just twice in three recent home games against the likes of Forest, Blackburn and Brentford. Huddersfield have also scored exactly twice in three of their last four at home, while the R’s often concede multiple goals on the road.
