      Huddersfield vs Rotherham Predictions

Both sides look to be involved in a real struggle to beat the drop this season. Rotherham are in the most immediate peril, just one place off the bottom. However they know 3 points here would be enough to move them level with opponents Huddersfield.

David Wagner got his first points as Huddersfield boss the weekend before last when they went to Birmingham and won. However they were brought back down to earth on home soil at the weekend when were beaten 2-1 by fellow strugglers Bristol City.

The John Smith’s Stadium has been anything but a happy home for Huddersfield of late. They’ve lost their last 4 home matches, conceding 10 times in the process and scoring just twice. They’ve only won 5 of their 25 matches at the stadium in 2015, losing 11 times.

Rotherham were in a similar situation to the Terriers in that they had a new manager who was struggling for results however Neil Redfearn claimed back-to-back wins at the end of November to lift spirits in the Rotherham camp. Although their last two games have ended in defeat they were both narrow losses and their 1-0 defeat at Blackburn last time out came only courtesy of an own goal.

Therefore of the two sides, there is probably a bit more confidence in the Rotherham camp and odds of 5/6 for the visitors to avoid defeat certainly represents good value given Huddersfield’s home record.

This is likely to be a competitive affair with it being a relegation six-pointer and a local derby but it seems doubtful that either side will have quite enough quality to win it. Therefore consider backing a 1-1 draw at odds of 11/2.
