Hull City vs Gillingham Predictions
- Hull are unbeaten in six League One games, winning five of those fixtures.
- The Tigers have conceded just nine league goals on home soil this season.
- Gillingham have not won away at Hull since February 1979.
Tigers to roar past Gills
Hull are unbeaten in their last six League One fixtures, winning five of those games, with that sequence helping them re-establish their position at the top of the standings.
The Tigers are also the leading scorers in the division, but only 21 of their 62 goals have been netted on home soil, although they have also conceded just nine times at the KCOM Stadium all season.
Indeed, each of Hull’s last seven home games have seen under 2.5 goals scored, although Grant McCann’s side have managed to win four of those matches.
Gillingham have won their last two away fixtures, a run that has moved them into playoff contention, but they had collected just a solitary point and scored a single goal from their three games on the road prior to that.
It has also been a long time since the Gills won at Hull, with their last success on Humberside coming way back in 1979, all be it Saturday will only be their fifth return since that 1-0 victory.
This is certainly not a fixture that has been played regularly over recent years, but Hull’s recent impressive form means we are predicting they will ultimately come out on top.
Given the lack of goals at the KCOM of late, we are also predicting under 2.5 to be scored on Saturday, while we could see a repeat of the 2-0 victory Hull claimed when the two teams met at the Priestfield Stadium earlier in the season.
