IK Brage vs Varberg Predictions

This fixture has a real habit of producing high-scoring matches, with the last 4 meetings averaging a huge 5.75 goals per game. While it is a while since they last met, the sort of seasons these clubs have been having suggests there is a strong chance we will see another really high-scoring game again this time around.

Brage are currently having the better campaign. They sit in 7th place and were impressive 3-1 winners against 2nd placed Orgryte in their most recent home match. However they failed to back that up last time out as they sank to defeat at Norrby and inconsistency seems to be a major issue for them and perhaps the only thing preventing them from mounting a serious promotion push.

Staying in the Superettan feels more like the priority for Varberg. They currently lie in one of the relegation play-off places but given the congested nature of this division right now, they’d move to within two points of their opponents were they to bag maximum points from this fixture. That looks unlikely though,  given they come into this match following four straight defeats.

In fairness to them, they’ve not been quite as bad as that run suggests. All of those defeats were by a single goal and they have looked quite good going forward at times. Two of their last three games have ended in 3-2 defeats, one of which was against current leaders Falkenberg, so even against the better sides, they have carried an attacking threat.

80% of Varberg away matches this term have seen both teams score and they average an impressive 1.6 goals per game away. However, they’ve conceded twice or more in all of their five away matches so they really have been reliant on their attacking players to try and dig them out of trouble.

With Brage averaging an excellent 2.4 goals per home game, backing Brage Over 1.5 Team Goals certainly looks to offer value. However, they don’t totally convince at their own end either with 1.8 goals per game conceded on average at home so far this term in the Superettan.

All of their home matches so far this season have produced goals at both ends so Domnarvsvallen has certainly seen plenty of action and overall backing Both Teams to Score certainly looks like the value bet here.
