Nerazzurri can notch a few goals

Inter Milan could put on a five-star display at home to Champions League newcomers Kairat Almaty on Wednesday as the visitors look out of their depth in the competition. The Kazakh champions, who secured their fifth title at the end of last month, have scored one goal and taken one point in the first three matches of the league phase.

They were outclassed by Sporting in Lisbon after making the 4,292-mile trip and then got hammered 5-0 at home by Real Madrid.  Rafael Urazbakhtin’s side did earn a 0-0 draw against Cypriot champions Paphos last time out, but this is another big step up in class for them.

Inter have already recorded some big wins in Serie A and the Champions League this term and Christian Chivu’s side could be in the mood to rack up a few goals for the San Siro faithful. The Nerazzurri recently beat Fiorentina 3-0 at home and that scoreline should be at the lower end of their ambitions.

Chivu has fresh legs to unleash

Domestically, Kairat are now out of season and did not have a competitive match last weekend. We have seen teams at the end of their campaigns quickly go off the boil and it will be a worry for Urazbakhtin that his team may not be able to live with Inter’s intensity for 90 minutes.

Back the home side to achieve a comfortable win with a -4 handicap within their reach if they put their chances away. Inter have scored at least three goals in three of their last four matches, perhaps only failing to score more than two at Verona on Saturday because of a heavily-rotated side.

Chivu has players like Federico Dimraco, Denzel Dumfries, Nicolo Barella and Francesco Pio Esposito to come back fresh for this one and it is likely that their quality and dept take a toll on Kairat’s ability to resist.
