Inter Milan vs Torino Predictions

Inter Milan’s defeat at Atalanta last weekend was their third in a row in Serie A. They have really hit a wall under new boss Franck De Boer, can he inspire them to turn things around when they return to the San Siro this week? They take on a Torino side who are in great form, one who are pushing for a place in Europe next season.

Torino have a big lead over their next opponents, they’re five points and nine places above Inter in the table. They’ve now got a chance to extend that advantage even further, if they can claim a victory at the San Siro. A win here wouldn’t just massively dent Inter’s push for Europe, it would also be a huge statement by Il Toro. Can they take advantage of a weak defence here?

While Inter have found the net in all of their last eight league games, they’re yet to keep a clean sheet in the league at home. They’ve conceded 1.25 goals per game at the San Siro, scoring the same amount. That’s a major part of their struggles, that win over Juventus feels like a distant memory now. They’ve managed to concede twice in three consecutive games. Their defence is in awful shape.

What makes Inter’s defensive record even worse is that they concede the opening goal in 78% of matches. That leaves them regularly fighting an uphill battle for points. Torino tend to score their goals earlier, they’ve been leading at half-time in 56% of their matches. That’s not something Inter can really come close to, as they’ve scored 73% of their goals in the second half. We suggest using those stats and backing a Torino half-time lead. It’s priced at 3/1 with bet365, which looks like fantastic value.

Torino come into this game not having lost in any of their last six games. Il Toro have scored 1.75 goals per match away, conceding 1.5. They’ve managed to find the net 11 times in their last four games, which is an impressive achievement. They’ve seen 78% of their games this season contain more than two goals, and we can see this clash being another high scoring affair.

Inter simply don’t have the defence to cope, while it’s hard to see Torino keeping a second away clean sheet of the season. Neither of these two are that strong at the back, while both are in impressive form going forward. That’s why we’re going with both teams to score here, which is priced at 3/4 with bet365.
