Ipswich and Both Teams To Score

      Reason for tip

Ipswich remain favourites to win the Championship title but things haven’t got according to plan so far for the Tractor Boys, who are yet to pick up a win this season. Three draws and a loss are all that the Suffolk side have to show for their efforts but they could get off the mark against a Derby side who have fared even worse. The Rams have lost three of their five matches and their inability to keep a clean sheet suggest more misery this weekend.

      Ipswich 2-1

      Reason for tip

Ipswich haven’t scored more than one goal in any of their four matches this term, but they should be able to score at least twice against a Derby side who have conceded 12 goals across their five fixtures this term. The Tractor Boys have won their last two meetings with the Rams by an aggregate of 3-0 and they could edge to another three points on Saturday.

      • Derby have lost three of their five matches this term

      • Ipswich have won their last two meetings with Derby 2-0 and 1-0

Tractor Boys fancied to step up a gear against Rams

Ipswich and Derby are yet to pick up a win this season, but the Tractor Boys are fancied to get off the mark with an edgy win at Portman Road.

The relegation hangover is lingering for the Suffolk side who are favourites to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking, but our prediction is for Kieran McKenna’s men to shake off some of their malaise against the Rams this Saturday.

Ipswich have won their last two matches against Derby without conceding but they are yet to keep a clean sheet this term, so an away goal can’t be ruled out.

McKenna’s side haven’t score more than once in any of their four matches in the early stages of this campaign, but Derby look perfect opponents to improve that statistic given their defensive frailties.

County are conceding at a rate of 2.4 goals per game so ailing Ipswich will expect to get plenty of chances  but it is unlikely the floodgates will open having lost star striker Liam Delap in the summer.

Delap is yet to be replaced at Portman Road but Ipswich should still be capable of getting on the scoresheet at least twice against such porous opposition.

A 2-1 home win looks the best course of action for correct-score punters.
