Can Valencia bounce back?

There is already a bit of pressure on new Valencia manager Gennaro Gattusu after successive 1-0 defeats to Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid.

In theory, this should be an easier game for Los Che, with fans expecting them to add to their tally of just one goal from three matches, scored in their opening day victory over Girona.

They have only lost five of their last 18 league matches at the Mestalla, so form here is not too bad, with 10 of those fixtures containing fewer than three goals.

Getafe still searching for a win

Getafe are another team struggling for goals, as last week’s 0-0 draw with Villarreal was the second time in three matches this season that they have failed to score.

Quique Sánchez Flores’ side are now on a run of eight La Liga outings without a win, and their opposition has kept a clean sheet in five of those games.

Their away record remains shaky at best, too, winning just one of their last 23 league matches on the road.

I predict that there will be under three goals in this game, with Valencia winning 1-0 as my correct score prediction.
