      Juventus vs Valencia Predictions

Juventus are hunting for a place in the last 16 of the Champions League on Tuesday night, as they host Valencia. The Italian champions have managed to bounce back from their shock loss to Manchester United, and they remain top of the pile in Group H despite that defeat. They are hosting a Valencia side who can’t afford a defeat if they’re to keep their last 16 hopes alive, but right now it’s tough to see the Spaniards getting a path into the next round after a poor start.

The hosts are hoping to lift the Champions League in Madrid at the end of the campaign, following their impressive summer transfer business. After monopolising the Serie A title race, their hope of scaling new heights comes in the Champions League, after 22 years without winning the trophy. They have a bit of a concern after switching off in their last clash with United, which saw them lose 2-1 after leading for much of the game. Those two away goals gives United a superior head to head record, and that means that Juve need to focus in the final matches of this campaign.

Valencia sit 10th after a weekend win over Rayo Vallecano, but their hopes of repeating last years run to the top four look slim following a slow start. The same goes for their Champions League hopes, as they drew a crucial meeting with minnows Young Boys, and that’s left them two points shy of United. Now Valencia can be eliminated from this competition with defeat here, and the bookies are clearly expecting that to happen.

Juve had some overconfidence problems in the previous meeting, but they’ve bounced back with two victories. They look focused once again, and we expect the Old Lady to come away with all three points in this encounter. The Italian champions were able to win in Valencia without Cristiano Ronaldo and having gone down to 10 men, so they fully deserve their favourites tag here.

The hosts have their fair share of dull games in Europe this season, as all of their Champions League victories so far have come to nil. On top of that, they’ve claimed back to back 2-0 wins since losing to United earlier this month. Juventus have kept a clean sheet in five of their last six Champions League group stage games, and that has us backing them for a comfortable win here. We’re going with Juve to win to nil on Tuesday, ending Valencia’s interest in this competition.
