Back both teams to score at Rugby Park

The goals have been flowing at Rugby Park of late and we see no reason why both teams shouldn’t register on Wednesday when Kilmarnock host bottom-of-the-table Greenock Morton.

Killie can still boast the best defensive record in the division, but they have kept only one home clean sheet since the start of October and shipped two at Hamilton on Boxing Day.

Backing basement club Morton to bag here may seem brave to some, but they have scored in their last three away league games and last five on the road in all competitions.

New manager bounce could help Morton

Two of the sides they found the net against in the league are currently above Kilmarnock in the table and there’s always a chance of an uplift in morale stemming from the appointment of new boss Dougie Imrie, who takes charge of them for the first time in Kilmarnock.
