      Draw

      Reason for tip

Despite winning the title last term, LA Galaxy have had a miserable time of things this season, winning none of their opening 16 game and amassing just four points. However, Real Salt Lake are just two places above the champions in the West and with three of the visitors’ last five finishing level, as well as each of the last three head-to-heads in California, a draw looks likely.

      Draw 1-1

      Reason for tip

Although LA Galaxy have conceded a league-high 36 goals, Real Salt Lake have scored exactly once in three of their last four away matches and a low-scoring draw can be expected. Two of Real’s last three away games finished with a 1-1 scoreline and the same result appeals for a correct-score bet.

LA Galaxy vs Real Salt Lake Predictions

      • LA Galaxy are still searching for a first MLS win of the season after taking just four points from their opening 16 games
      • Real Salt Lake are also towards the bottom of the Western Conference but have earned 11 more points than LA
      • Galaxy have conceded a league-high 36 goals this term

Luckless LA look set for another frustrating fixture

In a shocking turn of events, the reigning MLS champions, LA Galaxy, only six months on from their 2-1 triumph over New York Red Bulls, are propping up Western Conference after 16 games.

The Galaxy have taken a measly four points from their opening 16 matches, enough to make them the worst team in the MLS by some distance, and their title defence looks set to end well before the playoffs even begin.

A first league win of the campaign is still yet to arrive, no MLS side has conceded more goals than their 36 and they have lost seven of their last eight matches in all competitions, which is why it is surprising to see them as favourites for this clash with Real Salt Lake.

Real Salt Lake likely to earn a point in California

Salt Lake have not been tearing up any trees themselves, in fairness, but they have taken 11 more points than LA this term and can avoid defeat in California.

At the prices, it could be tempting to back Real to secure all three points, but they are without a win in six games and the draws makes more appeal.

Three of Salt Lake’s last five matches and three of LA’s last five in California finished level, while the pair’s last three meetings at Dignity Health Sports Park also saw the spoils shared.
