Las Palmas vs Espanyol Predictions
Las Palmas have made a bright start to the new season in La Liga and currently lie in 7th place after 7 games. Some may say that’s a false position, but we’ve seen enough from them over the past few months and in the second half of last season to suggest they are at the very least a solid mid-table side and perhaps better.
They’ve been a good side to watch so far and have been scoring plenty of goals. Only Barcelona have netted more than their impressive tally of 16 and they have 6 players who have already found the net at least twice. They come into this match following successive 2-2 draws against Real Madrid and Osasuna and they came from behind in both of those games, so the spirit seems good in their camp and at home they’ll be confident of winning this.
Espanyol on the face of it did some good business in the final few days of the summer transfer window and have a good manager in Quique Sánchez Flores but so far their results haven’t been great. Their only win came against bottom club Osasuna and they come into this match just 1 place outside the relegation zone, with 6 points from 7 games. Worryingly they are struggling for goals right now and have failed to score in their last two matches, which were both at home game against Celta Vigo and Villarreal.
In Espanyol’s defence, they’ve had some tough fixtures, having also played Real Madrid and Sevilla already but this is another one and they aren’t showing enough to suggest they will come here and get anything. Las Palmas are strong in Gran Canaria and haven’t lost at home to a side other than the ‘big three’ since last November.
So far this term they’ve beaten Granada and Malaga at home and held Real Madrid so they are well capable of winning this and backing Las Palmas to Win at Evens looks good here.
