Las Palmas vs Malaga Predictions
Las Palmas were one of the surprise packages last season and judging by their early season form it was no fluke. They’ve netted 10 goals so far, to leave them as joint top scorers with Real Madrid, and they demolished Granada 5-1 in their only home game so far. They looked to be on course to maintain their 100% record last weekend when they were leading 1-0 going into the final 2 minutes at Sevilla. However, everything unraveled late on with Bigas seeing red and the hosts netting two late goals to secure a 2-1 win. Back on home soil though, Las Palmas will be confident about their chances of getting back on track.
Juande Ramos hasn’t made a great start to life as Malaga boss. An opening day home game with newly promoted Osasuna looked to offer the perfect chance to get 3 points on the board but they could only draw 1-1 and have since drawn at Espanyol and lost 2-0 at home to Villarreal. There is some promise in this Malaga side but they haven’t looked anywhere near as good defensively as they were last season under Javi Gracia and with Las Palmas looking strong going forward, that could spell trouble.
The Gran Canarians have added Kevin Prince-Boateng to their side and he is linking up well with Nabil El Zhar and fellow new-boy Marko Livaja in attack. The rest of the team hasn’t changed a great deal and a top half finish might not be beyond them this term. Las Palmas have a strong home record and are unbeaten in 5 in La Liga at home coming into this game.
With Malaga not looking entirely convincing, this is a good chance for the side from Gran Canaria to continue their bright start and backing Las Palmas to Win at 5/4 looks to offer value here.
