Las Palmas vs Sevilla Betting Tips

These are two of the five clubs in the division who are yet to win after 4 games and both have an identical record of 2 draws and 2 defeats so far. Having just clinched promotion via the play-offs to secure a first top flight campaign in over a decade, it is no surprise to see Las Palmas struggling but Sevilla’s form is more of a mystery.

They put in a very assured performance to see off Borussia Monchengladbach 3-0 in their Champions League debut last week but in the league they’ve been really poor. They are rooted to the bottom of the early La Liga table and have only scored 2 goals so far. The latter of those came in a 2-1 home defeat to Celta Vigo on Sunday and made it 2 defeats out of 2 in the league at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, more than they suffered in all of last season.

On the road they’ve been involved in a couple of drab draws at Malaga and Levante and it would be no surprise to see this being a similar sort of game. A point against Sevilla would still be seen as good result by Las Palmas and they tend to be a fairly cautious side in any case.

Their home games so far have resulted in a 0-0 draw with Levante and a 1-0 loss against Rayo Vallecano. They are likely to be even less adventurous here against a side like Sevilla who can be a big threat on the break so another tight game is likely and with the visitors struggling for goals, backing there to be under 2.5 goals here at 17/20 here is surely worth a punt.

You have to worry a bit for Las Palmas. Home games against the likes of Levante and Rayo should really be their bread and butter and offered a gentle introduction to La Liga life. The fact they failed to score in either game really leaves you worrying for their long-term survival credentials with plenty of better sides to visit Gran Canaria, of which Sevilla are certainly one.

Despite their poor start the visitors still have a touch of extra class and that could be enough to seal the points here. It’s not likely to be pretty the way these two have been playing but a 1-0 away win looks good value at 7/1.
