Las Palmas could suffer another setback in title pursuit

Highflyers Las Palmas suffered a setback in their push for promotion last time out, falling to a 4-1 defeat away to Tenerife in the Canary Islands derby, and they could drop points again when they host Gijon.

Las Palmas head into this weekend only four points adrift of Segunda Division leaders Eibar but their loss to Tenerife was their third game on the spin without a win and they risk losing ground in the title race.

As for Gijon, they are having a tough season down in 18th spot, only four points clear of the relegation zone, but they have nonetheless avoided defeat in 21 of their 32 league games this season and held a capable Burgos side to a 0-0 draw last time out.

Neither side warrant backing to win this contest but they have racked up 26 draws between them this campaign and could share the spoils once again.
