Lazio vs Bologna Predictions

Lazio are right on the tail of bitter rivals Roma coming into the weekend games. They’ve picked up 13 points so far, which has them level on points with their neighbours. With Roma travelling to second placed Napoli on Saturday, this is a big opportunity for Simone Inzaghi’s side to push towards a spot in the top three.

They face a Bologna side who are in the bottom half of the table, having conceded in all of their away games so far. The visitors have an awful record on the road, they’ve failed to win their last 10. A run which stretches back to last term. Their defence seems to fall apart outside of their own ground, as they’ve let in 82% of the goals they’ve conceded away from the Renato Dall’Ara. They have shipped nine on the road already, which is more than Lazio have conceded in seven Serie A matches.

Their goal gets very little protection in those away games, as they’ve conceded 21 shots per game. Given that Lazio score 12% of their chances, this could end up being a very tough game for the travelling fans. Add to this their problematic injury list, there’s a strong chance that the fourth placed side will end up running away with this one.

When you look at their scoring record, they could well pick up a few goals. They’ve scored 1.87 goals per game in Serie A this term. They’ve found the net eight times in their last four games, while they’ve scored two or more in five of their last six at the Olimpico.

If you fancy Lazio to score a few here, take a look at their Italy forward Ciro Immobile. He’s scored four in total, including two in their win at Udinese before the international break. The former Borussia Dortmund man is 10/11 with bet365 to score any time on Sunday.

With Lazio’s good scoring form, we see them picking up a comfortable win. They’ve conceded just 0.33 at the Olimpico so far, so they’re unlikely to get pegged back too often against Bologna. We’re backing them to win this one by a couple, due to the visitors poor defensive record and the high number of chances they concede. Lazio -1.00 on the Asian Handicap is our tip, it’s 1.875 with bet365.
