Lazio vs Juventus Predictions
This year’s quarter-final is a repeat of last year’s final. Juventus won that game against Lazio 2-1 to complete the Italian domestic double before competing (and losing) against Barcelona in the Champions League final.
After a slow start to the season, Juventus has improved significantly and continue to be alive in all three competitions. They’re just two points adrift of Napoli in Serie A, and currently on a 10-game winning streak, they’ve qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League and they’re still in pursuit of another Coppa Italia. Argentinian Paulo Dybala is attributed with much of their success, he is already being compared to players like Messi, more importantly for Juventus, his impact on this campaign has been remarkable. He is the life blood playing alongside Paul Pogba in what has become a devastating midfield, both in terms of possession and its phenomenal goal-scoring record.
Lazio’s situation has changed markedly since last year’s final. That performance was combined with a third place finish in the league, a return to European football and seemingly a return to prominence for one of Serie A’s leading clubs. None of it has come to fruition in 2015/16. They’re stuck in ninth place in Serie A after another poor result at the weekend, drawing 2-2 with Bologna.
Three Reasons for Betting Tips
1. There’s goals in Lazio
They’re playing at home and while they’re approach to the game has definitely been shaken, we do back Lazio to score goals, even in a losing effort.
2. No stopping Juventus
We’ll be impressed if Lazio can focus on this match-up considering the situation in the league, it’s a tough home clash and there just seems to be no stopping Juventus at this point. They’ve dominated opponents and there’s no reason to think, considering their squad depth, that their charge won’t continue here.
3. BTTS covers the unexpected
Serie A’s big clubs can produce some firecrackers in Italian Serie A competition, the BTTS feels like a pretty good bet overall and it covers us against the potential for the extreme to happen.
