Marseille edge towards Champions League qualification

Marseille are in goalscoring form and they look a good bet to get another win away at Le Havre on Saturday as they look to grab a qualification spot in next season’s Champions League. Roberto De Zerbi’s side can secure the victory at Stade Oceane to move a step closer to competing back with Europe’s elite.

They are second in Ligue 1, 14 places and 28 points above Le Havre. The hosts are 16th with nine wins and 19 defeats, while Marseille have 18 wins and nine losses.

Le Havre have been disappointing defensively at home this season, conceding 38 goals in 16 Ligue 1 games – an average of 2.38 goals per game on their own patch. They have gone 11 home games without keeping a clean sheet.

Their recent form has been up and down, with three wins, one draw and two defeats in their last six games. They secured victories against Auxerre, bottom club Montpellier and Nantes, but also suffered a demoralising 5-1 defeat by Rennes.

Le Havre have been disappointing in front of goal at home this season, scoring just 14 goals in 16 games – an average of 0.88 goals per game.

Marseille can secure another win away at Le Havre on Saturday and a 2-0 victory looks the best correct-score option. Two of Marseille’s last four away victories have been by that scoreline.
