Tip Reasoning

  • Leeds have won just one of their last 10 meetings with Brighton, losing eight of those games.
  • Brighton hold the fifth-best away record in the Premier League this season.
  • Three of the last five meetings between these two sides have ended in a 2-0 scoreline.

Leeds depleted and out of form

Leeds will head into this contest sitting inside the relegation zone following a three-match losing run and having failed to score in any of their previous four games.

Jesse Marsch’s cause has not been helped by the continued absence of key players through injury such as Patrick Bamford and Stuart Dallas, while ill-discipline has also cost the Whites of late, with Luke Ayling and Daniel James set to miss the rest of the season through suspension.

Only the bottom two, Watford and Norwich, have picked fewer home points and victories than Leeds this season, with the Whites having won only one and lost six of their last eight matches at Elland Road.

In-form Brighton love facing Leeds

Brighton have already beaten their best ever Premier League points total and they are on course to secure a top-half finish in the division for the first time following back-to-back wins over Wolves and Manchester United – the latter was a 4-0 success at The Amex last weekend.

The Seagulls have built much of their success this season on an enviable away record, as only four teams have collected more top-flight wins on the road than the Seagulls.

That impressive form has been amplified with Graham Potter’s side having won three of their last four away from home, while Brighton also love facing Leeds.

The Seagulls have only lost one of their last 10 meetings with Sunday’s host, claiming eight wins during that time, including a 1-0 success at Elland Road last season and we are predicting another three-point haul for the visitors this weekend.

Seagulls to soar by sinking Leeds

Each of Brighton’s last four victories over Leeds have been to nil, a sequence that includes a pair of 2-0 successes.
Throw in the 2-0 victory Leeds enjoyed over Brighton in March 2017 and three of the last five meetings between the two sides have ended in that scoreline.

We are predicting 2-0 to be the outcome once again on Sunday, with the in-form Seagulls claiming the victory that is likely to push their opponents even closer to the relegation trapdoor.

Leeds predicted lineup: Meslier; Raphinha, Koch, Llorente, Firpo; Klich, Phillips; Shackleton, Rodrigo, Gelhardt; Bamford

Brighton predicted lineup: Sanchez; Veltman, Dunk, Cucurella; Lamptey, Bissouma, Caicedo, Trossard; Gross, Mac Allister, Welbeck
