Manchester City to Win and Over 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Manchester City have won eight of their 11 Premier League away games and their fixtures are averaging 2.5 goals-per-game on their travels. Forest are missing a number of key players in defence, but they have scored themselves in nine consecutive home league games so may be able to add to the goals tally and an away with with over 2.5 goals appeals.

      Manchester City 3-1

      Reason for tip

Forest are generally good for a goal at home and have only failed to score in one of their league games at the City Ground. The hosts are missing some key defenders, however, and City arrive in form with five wins in their last six games. City have scored exactly three goals in their last three league wins, so back the league leaders to claim a 3-1 win.

      Jack Grealish To Score Anytime

      Reason for tip

Jack Grealish has scored some important goals for Manchester City recently and was on target in then midweek win over Arsenal. The England international can make it two goals in two games against Forest’s makeshift defence.

Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City Predictions

      • Manchester City have won eight of their 11 Premier League away games.
      • City have five wins in their last six games, four of those have seen over 2.5 goals scored.
      • Nottingham Forest have only failed to score in one of their 11 Premier League outings at the City Ground.

      Injuries mounting for Forest

Nottingham Forest are in the midst of an injury crisis and they look set for a difficult afternoon when Manchester City visit on Saturday.

Forest made history last weekend as they became the first Premier League team to substitute two starting players inside the first 10 minutes.

Central defenders Willy Boly and Scott McKenna were forced off after just seven minutes in a 2-0 defeat at Fulham with respective hamstring issues.

Both players face spells in the treatment room, and they join the likes of Taiwo Awoniyi, Cheikhou Kouyate, Omar Richards, Moussa Niakhate and others on the sidelines.

      City could rotate

City moved to the top of the Premier League table on Wednesday with a win over Arsenal but they could opt to make a few changes to their starting XI on Saturday, with a Champions League trip to RB Leipzig to contend with next week.

The handicap markets were a consideration for this encounter, particularly given Forest’s injury issues, but if Pep Guardiola does decide to give a few stars the afternoon off it could be a closer game than expected so instead an away win with over 2.5 goals looks a reasonable option.

Forest’s home form has been impressive since mid-September but but is is hard to see them holding out against City. The City Ground side have suffered four home defeats in all competitions this term and there have been at least three goals scored in three of those games.

City have eight away wins in 11 attempts in the Premier League and their away fixtures are averaging 2.5 goals-per-game. Forest may be able to add to the goals tally themselves as they have only failed to score in one of their home league outings, and with the hosts missing some first choice defenders we should see at least three goals.

Grealish in form in front of goal

Jack Grealish has had his fair share of criticism since his mega money move to Manchester due to a lack of goals and assists, but the England international has started to make a real impact in recent weeks.

Grealish has turned up in the big games with a goal in last month’s Manchester Derby defeat and a strike in the win over Arsenal. He may well be one of the players rested this weekend head of the game against Leipzig, but if he is handed a starting spot he stands out as a possible goalscorer as an alternative option to Erling Haaland.

City have gone four games without a clean sheet away from home and that run may continue against Forest, who have scored in their last nine home league games, and a 3-1 win for the visitors appeals in the correct score market.
