Foxes can take big step towards promotion

Two of the four teams in contention for automatic promotion from the Championship clash on Tuesday night when Leicester welcome Southampton to the King Power Stadium.

It promises to be an entertaining affair but the Foxes lead the way in the second tier and should have the edge.

Recent results have been hit and miss for Leicester but at home they have been a little more consistent, winning their last three games on their own patch against Norwich, Birmingham and West Brom.

They have also lost just four times on their own patch in the league this campaign, although they have conceded in each of their last three home wins and could struggle to keep Saints quiet.

Southampton have also scored a whopping 85 goals in the Championship this season, including nine in their last four.

Indeed, they have drawn just one blank in their last nine contests in all competitions and got on the scoresheet in a 4-1 defeat to Leicester in the reverse fixture back in September.

Given Leicester’s recent inconsistencies, this match could be much closer and in terms of a correct score selection, punters should consider 2-1 to the hosts, given Southampton lost by that scoreline against Cardiff on Saturday.
