Levante vs Albacete Predictions
- Levante won the first leg 3-1
- Levante are unbeaten against Albacete this season (W2, D1).
- Levante won 11 of their 21 home games in La Liga 2 (D7, L3).
Levante looking for immediate La Liga return
Levante entertain Albacete in the second leg of their La Liga 2 play-off semi-final on Wednesday holding a commanding 3-1 lead.
The Granotes are bidding to secure an immediate return to Spain’s top flight after their relegation last season and they book their place in the play-off final by seeing off Albacete in the second leg.
Levante a puzzle Albacete can’t solve
The visitors finished just five points shy of Levante in the regular season but they struggled to make an impact in the head-to-head meetings.
Albacete lost their home game against Levante 3-2 and the reverse fixture at this ground in March finished 0-0, but the Queso Mecanico were perhaps lucky to escape with a point as Levante dominated possession and had 25 attempts on goal to their 11.
Alba go into the game two goals behind so they have to try and attack from the off, and Levante are a good enough team to soak up any early pressure and make the most of the chances that will surely come their way on the break.
Levante come into this clash as the form team with three straight wins, so a victory for the hosts stands out for the main bet.
Albacete can get on the scoresheet
Albacete have scored in 12 consecutive games and have hit three goals in as many games against their hosts, and as they simply have to attack from the off they should be expected to grab a goal in this second leg.
Levante have only managed one clean sheet in their last five games, so a 2-1 win for the hosts appeals. If Levante are ahead they are unlikely to go hunting for more goals as they already have a two-goal advantage, so they may well settle for a one-goal margin of victory.
Los Azulgranas are a team who tend to share the goals around but Jorge de Frutos is a man in form and stands out as a potential scorer for the home side. The 26-year-old managed a modest five goals in 40 games in the normal season but struck twice in the first leg after getting on the scoresheet against Real Oviedo in the final round of league games, meaning he has three goals in his last two games.
