Levante vs Eibar Betting Tips

Eibar got off to a flying start with victories over Granada and Athletic Bilbao to answer their doubters who suggested they were certainties for the drop this year having only survived last year with some good fortune via the demotion of Elche for financial problems. However much like last season now everyone is again waiting for the inevitable dip in form.

They’ve failed to score since those opening two wins with a 0-0 draw at Malaga and a 2-0 home defeat to Atletico Madrid at the weekend. It’s probably too soon to describe the results as a throwback to the dark days in the second half of last season when they were just desperately short of goals and were consistently losing games narrowly to nil.

That would be the concern though and they were also beaten 1-0 at home by Sporting Gijon in a friendly during the international break. On the face of it they may see this as a winnable game but while Levante may only have 2 points from their opening 4 games they have had some really tough fixtures with Barcelona, Sevilla and high-flying Celta Vigo among their opponents.

Encouragingly for them though, they’ve scored in all of those games and against a side like Eibar who pose considerably less of a threat at the other end, 1 goal might be enough to secure the win. This certainly represents their best chance of picking up all the points in a game so far and they’ll probably have been targeting it for a while even at this early stage of the season.

Therefore we should see a strong full-blooded showing from the hosts and at 7/5 they look really good value for the win against an Eibar side who are almost certainly in a false position right now in 6th place.

It’s hard to see there being many goals though as neither side really have much in the way of major creative forces or clinical finishers. Therefore consider backing the home side to secure a 1-0 win and secure their first victory of the season at odds of 5/1.
