Tip Reasoning

  • Both teams have not scored in six of the last eight Leyton Orient home games.
  • Both teams have not scored in nine of Barrow’s last 11 away league games.
  • Barrow have scored the second-least amount of goals (6) in their last ten League Two games.
  • Barrow have the joint-fourth best defensive record in League Two over the last ten games, conceding just eight.

Don’t get carried away with O’s recent results

Leyton Orient could well extend their winning streak to three against struggling Barrow on Saturday, but the value probably lies elsewhere in the markets. It would be easy to get carried away after the O’s back-to-back league wins against Rochdale and Harrogate.

Both times, the Londoners scored three goals and dispatched opposition that currently sit above Barrow in the League Two table. But neither of those teams were in any sort of decent form with Harrogate currently in a big rut.

The Bluebirds have been pretty solid on the road of late and can be tough to beat when they shut up shop. Mark Cooper’s side don’t score enough goals – which is why they sit in 21st place right now – with only rock-bottom Scunthorpe having registered fewer strikes in the league.

Value about one of these keeping a clean sheet

But they are tighter at the back than many of the sides above them and bring the joint-fourth best defensive record in League Two over the last ten games to London this weekend.

The value in this betting market appears to be in the goals markets where recent results of both clubs have a strong statistical correlation to the ‘BTTS – no’ option.  Both teams have not scored in six of the last eight Leyton Orient home games and also in nine of Barrow’s last 11 away league games.

The best correct score fit for this one could well be 0-0, but the visitors have scored in five of their last seven away games and won three of those to nil, so we will risk a small stake on a 1-0 triumph for Barrow.
