Les Dogues prove tough to beat

PSG have recovered from a shaky start to the season to lead the way in Ligue 1 but they could find it tough to break down an in-form Lille side on Sunday night.

The hosts have only lost two league games all season and head into Sunday’s showdown unbeaten in nine and, with much of that down to their defensive solidity, we could be in for a tight affair in Lille.

12 of Les Dogues’ 15 Ligue 1 assignments have produced fewer than three goals and each of their last nine have gone under 2.5 goals, with just 12 goals being scored in this period. They have kept nine clean sheets this season and come up against a PSG side in equally good form at the back, keeping six clean sheets in their last ten Ligue 1 games.

Tight affair expected in Lille

Many of Les Parisiens’ league outings are high-scoring affairs, but that is largely down to the attacking talent at their disposal and they could have a tougher time breaking down the second-best defence in the division, making under 2.5 goals an appealing option.

A low-scoring draw could be on the cards, too. Both of these sides are unbeaten in the league since September and Lille have drawn four of their nine games since. PSG have played out two 1-1 draws in their last four in all competitions, so that is an option in the correct score market.
