Liverpool vs Bournemouth Predictions
So far he has overseen 3 straight draws in what hasn’t exactly been a fairytale start and it is now 5 draws in a row for Liverpool in all competitions. They have a good opportunity to end that run here though against a Bournemouth side that have lost key players to injury and have lost their last two matches 5-1 against Manchester City and Tottenham in the league.
They certainly head to the North-West in worse shape than they did back in August when they were on the wrong end of some poor decisions in an unfortunate 1-0 defeat. These are worrying times for Eddie Howe whose side have dropped to 17th in the Premier League.
Clearly survival is the priority for the Cherries this season and even if this was a league clash they may have made changes given the nature of their last two defeats. The players that come in won’t be lacking motivation and may sense they can force their way into the starting eleven for the weekend Premier League South Coast derby at Southampton.
However in terms of quality, Liverpool should have too much. Klopp may be able to throw caution to the wind a bit more here against weaker opposition and we might see more of the attacking philosophy with which he made his name at Dortmund.
Christian Benteke, who came off the bench to score on Sunday and Roberto Firmino are both likely to come into the starting eleven and goals are likely in this match given Bournemouth are a positive side and won’t be keen on the idea of extra time. Therefore consider backing Liverpool to win and there to be over 2.5 goals in the game at 6/5.
Both teams have scored in all of the last 6 matches at Anfield, while both teams have scored in all of Bournemouth’s last 5 matches and they haven’t failed to net in 10 games, since their last visit to Anfield.
Therefore an away goal is a distinct possibility but with Bournemouth struggling to stem the flow of goals at the other end, Liverpool should be too strong and a 3-1 home win looks decent value at 10/1.
