Liverpool vs Stoke Betting tips & Predictions

Liverpool travelled to Borussia Dortmund this week in what everybody thought would result in a defeat for the visitors. However, they managed to put in a very good performance against Jurgen Klopp’s former club and come away from their first leg Europa League tie with a 1-1 draw under their belts. This is an excellent result for Liverpool to take back to Anfield with them, but the job is far from done there with the capabilities that Dortmund possess.

Despite the good result, Liverpool are now without a win in four games, although to be fair the fixture list has not been particularly kind to them recently. They have drawn against Manchester United, Spurs, and Dortmund and lost at Southampton since their last victory.

Hopes of a top four spot are getting a bit too far fetched now though, with them sitting all the way down in 9th with a nine point gap between them and Manchester City. They do have a game in hand though.

Stoke are resting just above them in 8th, and any improvement in position from them would see them put in their best ever performance in the Premier League. They could have improved on their position last week when they led Swansea 2-0, but a defensive capitulation led to them only taking a point from the match. This made it two wins, two draws, and one defeat in their last five outings.

There’s no denying that they are a much more entertaining side since their influx of continental talent though. They have scored with much greater frequency than we’re used to seeing from them this season, and this is reflect in the fact that they haven’t failed to score in any of their last seven matches.

Liverpool have found the net in nine consecutive matches, conceding in six of them as well. Stoke have only kept a clean sheet in one of their last ten outings as well, so we should see a couple of goals in this one. Odds of 19/20 for Both Teams to Score look good value to me, and a 2-1 Liverpool win at 8/1 is looking attractive too.
