LA back in their stride

After a shaky run, LAFC have returned to form after winning their last two games. They’ve edged out Sporting KC and the Seattle Sounders to keep their place at the top of the Western Conference, while they should be confident of seeing off Vancouver once again.

The hosts did go through a six-game winless run, which saw them exit the US Open Cup and the Concacaf Champions League. However, their recent victories look to have put them back on course for a strong season and a fine home record suggests they can deal with the visitors.

The Whitecaps have won just five of their first 17 games in MLS this term, which isn’t a great return. However, that form looks even worse when you consider that the hosts have won all five of those games at their own ground this term.

On the road, Vancouver have lost four of seven trips and they come into this one having lost three of their last four matches on their travels.

In addition to that, these two sides met in the Champions League in April and LAFC won 3-0 in both legs. Given how the visitors are struggling on the road, look to a third win on the bounce for the hosts.
