      Lugo vs Tenerife Predictions

Both of these sides are still waiting to confirm their place in the second tier with only two games left to play. Given that, the bookies have zeroed in on the draw as the bet to watch here, as they’re clearly expecting the pair to share the spoils and move closer to safety. That would possibly keep both sides up, but are they going to be in such a forgiving mood? The pair could end up in huge trouble if Rayo Majadahonda could claim a victory this weekend, which would leave us with a dramatic finish.

Lugo are the hosts, but they are also the side who are in the most dangerous position of the two. Lugo sit just three points clear of the relegation zone, having lost 15 matches from the 40 they’ve played. The hosts are out to record a third straight win at home, a result which would push them clear of danger. However, they’ve won just 40% of their home matches this season, while their defensive record has been a real problem in their attempt to beat the drop this term.

Tenerife come into this game still in trouble, while they’ll be worried about their away record. Only four sides in the division have a worse return on their travels this season, which has left them in danger of dropping out of the second tier. They have lost their last three away matches ahead of this meeting with Lugo, while the hosts come into it with a great home record against the bottom sides. Lugo have won all five meetings with the bottom seven so far. Will that leave Tenerife in trouble?

The visitors will take comfort from the fact that their opponents have conceded in 80% of their home matches. Half of those clean sheets have come against the league’s bottom two, so obviously their defence isn’t rock solid. We have seen Lugo ship 15 goals across their last nine at home, while they’ve shipped at least two in four of their last five home games.

Meanwhile, Tenerife have kept a clean sheet in just 10% of their away trips, while they’ve shipped a goal in their last 12 league games on the bounce. On the plus side, they’ve scored in all of their trips to sides below them in the table, so we expect to see something from the visitors going forward. That has promoted us to back both teams to score in this clash, while we’re going for a 1-1 draw.
