Germany are not guaranteed a spot in the World Cup as it stands but they can take a big step towards qualification with a win over Luxembourg.

Julian Nagelsmann’s men have won three of their four matches but did fall to a 2-0 defeat to Slovakia in their opener and those rivals are now level with Germany on nine points, although the four-time World Cup winners have a two-goal headstart on goal difference.

Luxembourg have found it tough going in a competitive section, losing all four games and scoring just once.

The hosts have struggled to back up their shock 1-0 friendly win over Sweden in March and were beaten 4-0 by these opponents in the reverse fixture back in October.

Nick Woltemade led the line for the visitors in that game but considering the amount of games that the Newcastle forward has played, he could be rested for this one.

Eintracht Frankfurt’s Jonathan Burkardt may get the chance to spearhead the German attack and looks a solid bet to score after netting eight times in 12 starts for Frankfurt this term.
