In-form Lyon can claim another victory

Lyon have won eight of their last ten home games in Ligue 1 and they are the best bet to get another victory on Sunday when they host Lille at the Groupama Stadium.

Lyon are one place above Lille in the table, with four points separating the two teams. Both have won more games than they’ve lost this season, Lyon having won 11 and Lille ten of their 19 games.

Lyon kept up their recent winning trend with a 5-2 victory away at Metz, making it five wins in the six matches in which they have been odds-on this season. Lyon were 7/10 to win the game and comfortably obliged for favourite backers, although Metz had their chances they didn’t make the most of them.

Scoring has not been an issue for Lyon lately. They have found the net in their last four league games, scoring at least twice in three of those, including a 5-2 win over Metz last weekend.

The hosts are on a roll – Lyon have won their last three Ligue 1 home games.

Lyon have been impressive defensively at home this season, conceding just seven goals in nine Ligue 1 games – an average of 0.78 goals per game.

Lille are in a rut, having gone three Ligue 1 games without recording a victory and sustaining three successive reverses.

The visitors are looking vulnerable at the back. Lille have been unable to keep their opponents at bay in four straight Ligue 1 games and have conceded 17 goals away from home this season – an average of 1.89 goals per game from nine matches.

A narrow 1-0 victory for Lyon looks the most likely outcome in the correct-score market. There has been fewer than three goals in three of the last five Ligue 1 clashes between these sides and seven of Lyon’s 11 wins this season have come by a one-goal margin.
