Lyon looking to follow up after big European win

Olympique Lyonnais snapped a five-game winless run in style in the Europa League during the week, triumphing 6-0 against Maccabi Tel Aviv in Serbia.

Paulo Fonseca’s side will now hope to follow up when Nantes visit Parc Olympique Lyonnais and the hosts should be confident, as they have scored in all eight of their matches on home soil this season, winning six of those.

Lyon also have a strong recent record against Sunday’s visitors, as they are unbeaten in the last 10 Ligue 1 meetings between the two sides and have won four of the previous five clashes on home soil.

Nantes can get on the scoresheet

Nantes are struggling at the wrong end of the table and have won just one of their last 10 matches, albeit that sole victory did come on the road at Paris FC last month.

Wins may be few and far between but Les Canaris are at least scoring regularly under Luis Castro, netting in four of their last five, a run that includes losing an eight-goal thriller 5-3 to Monaco on home soil.

With Lyon having conceded in back-to-back home games, Nantes can get on the scoresheet on Sunday, but with just two clean-sheets all season, the visitors are likely to end up on the wrong end of the result.
