Malaga vs Real Madrid Predictions
Los Blancos picked up a great result in midweek, winning 2-0 at Roma to put one foot in the last eight of the Champions League. They have won 6 of their 7 games under Zinedine Zidane and remain unbeaten under the Frenchman. However they still trail Barcelona by 7 points in La Liga and can’t really afford any slip-ups here against a much-improved Malaga side.
The side from the Costa del Sol have stepped up a gear in recent months and look at worst a solid mid-table side and if they can keep their form going, could even make a late charge for the European places. They’ve taken 19 points from their last 10 league games but have lost 3 of their last 5, all of which were narrow defeats against Barcelona, Sevilla and Villarreal.
Reason for Betting Tips
You can back Real Madrid to win at 8/11 here and it is rare they are as long as that to win a league game against a side other than Barcelona or Atletico. Malaga might be playing well but they’ve still tended to fall just short when they’ve come up against the top sides and Real Madrid are playing with real confidence and belief right now and the Zidane honeymoon could well continue for a little while longer. Their win in Rome put to bed the suggestion that their good form under the Frenchman was down to easy fixtures and they should have enough to negotiate this although it is likely to be a tight game.
