      Draw

      Reason for tip

Mali drew all three of their group matches and their meetings with Tunisia also tend to be tight, with 13 of the 15 previous head-to-heads being settled by no more than one goal. The Eagles of Carthage drew their final group game against Tanzania and this latest contest could go to extra time and beyond.

      Reason for tip

These two sides will be meeting at AFCON for the fourth tournament in a row and two of the previous three such clashes finished 1-1. Mali have already drawn by that scoreline twice at this tournament, while Tunisia’s final group game, against Tanzania, also ended 1-1.

      Mali vs Tunisia Predictions

      • Mali drew all three of their group matches
      • Tunisia rounded of their group campaign with a 1-1 draw against Tanzania
      • This will be the fourth AFCON in a row that these two sides have met
      • Two of the previous three meetings at AFCON have finished 1-1

      Tight contest expected in Casablanca

Mali and Tunisia will battle it out for a place in the quarter-finals of AFCON when they meet at Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca on Saturday and a tight contest is expected.

The Eagles drew all three of their matches to finish second in Group A behind hosts Morocco and they are now unbeaten in six games since losing a World Cup qualifier to Ghana in September.

Tunisia went unbeaten in World Cup qualifying, winning nine of their 10 matches and conceding no goals, but they lost to Nigeria in their second fixture at this tournament before playing out an underwhelming 1-1 draw with Tanzania in their final group game.

      Familiar foes lock horns

This will be the fourth AFCON in a row that these two sides have locked horns and the previous three meetings have all been close, with Mali winning one 1-0 and the other two finishing 1-1.

Historically, across the 15 meetings between the two sides, only twice has the game been decided by more than one goal, and supporters could well be set for a nervous watch on Saturday, with this latest clash having the potential to go to extra time beyond.

With two of the last three meetings at AFCON finishing 1-1 and both sides having already registered that scoreline at this tournament at least once, a goal apiece could be how this contest finishes after 90 minutes.
