Lorient vs Lens Predictions

Lens are the bet away at Lorient on Saturday. Pierre Sage’s side travel to Stade du Moustoir to face Olivier Pantaloni’s hosts and can get the win.

They are eight places and 22 points above Lorient, but both teams have won more games than they’ve lost this season. Lorient are tenth with eight wins and seven losses, while Lens are second with 18 wins and five defeats.

No other team has conceded fewer Ligue 1 goals this season than Lens’ 21 in 25 games, and the last three head-to-heads between these sides have seen Lens shutout Lorient. In contrast, Lorient have been unable to keep their opponents at bay in three straight Ligue 1 games and have failed to keep a clean sheet in nine of their last 11 home matches.

Lens have only lost one of their last ten Ligue 1 head-to-heads with Lorient, and with the visitors without a win in three league games, they could be worth backing.

Lens have been in fine form going forward, scoring in 15 consecutive games, including a 5-0 thrashing of Paris last month. They have scored three goals or more in eight of their 25 Ligue 1 games this season.

With five of Lens’ last seven Ligue 1 games featuring three or more goals and the visitors having six 2-1 wins to their name so far this season, a 2-1 win for Lens looks a decent correct-score bet.
