Midtjylland -1

Reason for tip

Midtjylland won six of their eight home matches in the Europa League last season, five of which came by a two-goal margin or greater. They eased through qualifying for that competition, and they should have little trouble against a Bohs side that has lost three of their last four, including a 2-0 defeat in Dublin last week.

Midtjylland 4-1

Reason for tip

Bohemians lost 3-1 at Waterford at the weekend, while they were beaten 3-2 at Kosovo’s Ballkani in the last round. The quality of the hosts should tell after their routine 2-0 victory last week, so back a 4-1 Midtjylland win.

Midtjylland vs Bohemians Predictions

  • Midtjylland won six of their eight home games in Europe last season, and five of those wins were by 2+ goals
  • The Danish side won 2-0 in Dublin last week
  • Bohemians have lost three of their last four matches

Bohs set for heavy defeat

Bohemians were beaten 2-0 in last week’s first leg in Dublin, and they should fall short against the superior quality of Midtjylland in Thursday’s return leg.

The first leg at Tallaght was a match of few chances, but the Danish outfit put Bohemians to the sword with a goal in each half to take a commanding lead back to MCH Arena.

The Bohs have already struggled on the road in Europe this season, drawing 0-0 at Gibraltar’s St Joseph’s and suffering a 3-2 defeat at Kosovan side Ballkani.

This is the Irish side’s biggest test in qualifying to date, and they head into it having suffered three defeats across their last four matches.

The visitors have lost both of their league visits to the two sides above them in the table, and they head to a Midtjylland side that have a strong record at home.

The Danish side won all four of their home League Phase matches in the Europa League last term, and three of those came by a two-goal margin. In last summer’s qualifying campaign, they beat Norway’s Fredrikstad 2-0 and Finnish outfit KuPS 4-0.
