Wolves ready to pounce on any slip from leaders

Midtjylland are poised to pounce on any further slip-up from Superliga leaders Copenhagen and can apply some pressure with a win over a broken Brondby team that have put up a poor defence of their title.

Bo Henriksen’s side are just one point behind FCK going into the final three games of the season and the title isn’t all that’s at stake with the champions joining the Champions League qualifiers two rounds ahead of the runners-up. Apart from the fact that Brondby might not want to do their cross-city rivals a favour here, all the motivation for this match is with the hosts.

Brondby have dropped so far out of contention that they now need favours just to get into the Conference League after a run of seven straight defeats. That sequence was ended by a 1-1 home draw with Copenhagen last weekend, but they were helped by a superb atmosphere and a profligate rival that may just be feeling some title jitters.

Hosts have attacking stars back to full fitness

Midtjylland won’t experience anything like that in this home contest and they should have all of their creative attacking players fit enough to start for the first time in weeks. Pione Sisto remains a doubt after missing the last couple of games with a minor injury, but Anders Dreyer, Junior Brumado and Evander are all likely to feature.

The Wolves are simple too strong for their visitors and should devour them pretty quickly to maintain their push for the Danish double. We’re backing Midtjylland to win with at least two goals in the game as Henriksen’s side are not the sort to sit on a one-goal cushion.
