AC Milan vs Carpi Predictions
Milan’s season has been a little up and down, but they will still feel relatively happen early in 2016. They’re in contention for a place in European football next season and prepare for Wednesday’s quarter-final at the San Siro as big favourites. A lot of the big names have already exited the Coppa Italia and only two of Lazio, Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli will appear in the semi-finals after their respective quarters.
AC Milan haven’t quite hit top form since the Christmas break. They picked up a valuable 1-1 away draw against Roma at the weekend, but started the year with a frustrating 1-0 home loss to Bologna.
Carpi picked up a 1-0 away win against Fiorentina to advance to this stage of the competition and even as they continue to look in peril locked in a tough relegation battle, they’re clearly a dangerous club. They’ve picked up four points from their two Serie A games in 2016 drawing with Lazio and beating Udinese.
Three Reasons for Betting Tips
1. Milan yet to hit goal-scoring form in 2016
They’ve picked up just one goal in two games since the break and the dynamism that was apparent in the second part of December appears to have departed as quickly as it came. Even a Milan win in this game probably won’t surpass the Asian Handicap.
2. Carpi form
Carpi are definitely not a side to under-estimate, especially as underdogs away from home. They have the ability to get forward and they put together a strong shutdown effort in the previous round of this competition.
3. Fancy an upset
Serie A hasn’t been an overly predictable competition this season and we just fancy our chances on an upset in the Coppa Italia, which is already guaranteed a Serie B team in the semi-final because of the match-up between Spezia and Alessandria.
