Millwall vs Blackburn Rovers Predictions
Millwall can keep rolling at The Den
Millwall should be backed to beat Blackburn at home in the Championship on Saturday. The visitors have lost their last two away games and there could be more trouble in store for them at The Den.
Millwall are third in the league, 17 places and 29 points above Blackburn. The hosts have won 20, drawn eight and lost nine of their 37 games this season, while Blackburn have ten wins, nine draws and 18 defeats.
Millwall maintained their winning habit with a 1-0 victory over Derby on Tuesday, securing the win/win double result to justify their price of 19/20. Josh Coburn’s goal just before half-time proved to be the difference, and Millwall restricted Derby to one shot on target. This was their fourth win in the six matches in which they have been odds-on this season.
Millwall are on a roll at home, having been winners in five of their last seven Championship games. They have enjoyed two straight successes on their own patch.
They are banging in the goals at the moment, having found the net at least twice in five of their last seven Championship games. They have scored in 12 games in a row and have averaged 1.75 goals a game in their eight home matches against bottom-half teams this season.
Millwall have been solid at the back this season, keeping out their opponents in three of their last four Championship games.
Backing Blackburn’s opponents during their current run of three defeats in four Championship games would have resulted in a profit of 3.73 units.
The visitors are enduring a rough spell, with no wins in their last four Championship games, three of which have ended in defeat. They have lost five of their last six on the road.
The visitors lack killer instinct in front of goal. Blackburn have been disappointing away from home this season, scoring just 16 goals in 18 games – an average of 0.89 goals a game on the road.
The visitors have been vulnerable defensively of late, with Blackburn failing to keep their opponents at bay in four straight Championship games. They have conceded on each of their last six road trips.
Millwall may be able to edge out Blackburn in a close game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. The visitors won the last Championship meeting 2-0 but both teams scored in six of the previous eight encounters.
