      Millwall to Win

      Reason for tip

Millwall look good value to see off Middlesbrough at The Den. The Lions have won six of their last eight at home and opened the season with a 2-1 victory at Norwich. Boro’s away struggles are a concern, having lost four of their last six league trips last season.

      Millwall 2-0

      Reason for tip

A 2-0 Millwall win appeals, with at least one team failing to score in nine of the last 11 meetings between these sides. The Lions have kept things tight at home, while Boro have failed to score in four of their last six Championship away matches, highlighting their attacking inconsistency.

      Millwall vs Middlesbrough Predictions

Home Strength Gives Millwall the Edge Over Boro

Millwall are worth backing to beat Middlesbrough at home in the Championship on Saturday. Alex Neil’s side have won six of their last eight at The Den, and claimed a 2-1 win at Norwich in their season opener.

They finished eighth last season, two points ahead of Middlesbrough in tenth. Millwall won 18 games, drew 12 and lost 16 times, while Middlesbrough achieved the same number of wins but with ten draws and 18 defeats.

The Lions left it late to claim victory over Norwich last weekend, with Camiel Neghli scoring the opener and Macaulay Langstaff netting the winner in the 83rd minute.

They finished last season on a run of six wins from their last eight home games, including the last five. They have lost just one of their last nine at The Den.

Middlesbrough, meanwhile, finished last season with four defeats in their last six Championship away games, and new boss Rob Edwards must find a way to pick up more points on the road this term.

The visitors, who beat Swansea 1-0 at home last weekend then lost 4-0 to League One Doncaster in the EFL Cup, have been kept at bay in four of their last six Championship away games.

A 2-0 home win for Millwall looks a decent correct-score option. At least one of the sides has failed to score in nine of the last 11 Championship head-to-heads between these two, and that could be the case again here.
