A potentially tricky trip for NYC

With Minnesota knocked out of the US Open cup in the round of 16 last time out, they can fully focus on matters of breaking into the play-off picture in the MLS. Currently tied with two other sides on 18 points, Minnesota know that victory here will go a long way in helping their goal of climbing the table.

Luckily, the hosts have not failed to score against NYCFC in any of the prior H2H meetings (W1, D1, L1), while the balanced record against the MLS juggernauts suggests that they will not bow down to their underdog status in this clash.

Bouncing back from disappointment

New York City responded well to their semi-final defeat in the CONCACAF Champions League by following it up with a 2-0 win in the following away game. However, that win was their first away clean sheet in three trips, of which they conceded nine times!

The visitors certainly have ambitions of defending their MLS Cup crown, but they have a long way to go and consistency to discover. The visitors failed to win five of their last six away trips but we think that they will give this one a real go.
