Monaco vs Rennes Predictions

Both teams have found the net in 17 of the last 20 Ligue 1 games between Monaco and Rennes, and that trend is unlikely to change when they meet at Stade Louis II on Saturday. The best bet is both teams to score.

Rennes are four places above Monaco in the table and have seven points more than their hosts. The visitors, who sit sixth having won eight of their 19 games this season, face a tenth-placed Monaco side who have won seven.

Monaco have lost their last two home games in the league, but Rennes have been in good form on the road, winning three of their last four away matches.

Both teams have been struggling defensively of late. Monaco have conceded 33 goals this season in Ligue 1 – an average of 1.74 goals conceded per game from 19 games – while Rennes have failed to keep a clean sheet in five of their last seven league games.

Monaco may be able to edge out Rennes in a close encounter, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Eleven of Monaco’s 19 Ligue 1 matches this season have gone over 2.5 goals, and they have beaten Rennes by a single goal in four of the last five clashes.
