Draw

Reason for tip

Both teams have beaten Gabon by one-goal margins and may not be that far apart in terms of form and quality. Mozambique pushed Ivory Coast close in defeat earlier and can stifle a Cameroon side that may be content with a draw.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

A 1-1 scoreline may be the most likely on this occasion. Cameroon have lost only two of their last 18 games but have scored multiple goals in only one of their last six outings. They could be vulnerable against an improving Mozambique side with plenty to play for.

Mozambique vs Cameroon Predictions

  • Both teams have beaten Gabon
  • Mozambique pushed Ivory Coast close in defeat
  • Their last meeting ended in a narrow win for Cameroon

Cameroon pushing toward the knockouts with authority

Cameroon arrive in Marrakesh knowing a win will guarantee their place in the last 16, and they have looked increasingly assured as the group stage has progressed. A 1‑0 victory over Gabon in their opener set the tone, before a disciplined 1‑1 draw with reigning champions Ivory Coast kept them firmly in control of their qualification path.

Marc Brys’ side have shown the organisation and physicality expected of a Cameroonian team, with their defensive structure particularly impressive. They have conceded just once in two matches and have looked comfortable absorbing pressure before striking on the counter.

The Indomitable Lions have some decisive players at the top end of the pitch and do not lack expereince at the back, a combination which should prove too strong for plucky Mozambique.

Mambas have been made to pay for slow starts

The Mambas, meanwhile, enter the final group fixture needing a win to have any realistic chance of progressing. That will be a tough ask against Cameroon, but they have shown enough in the tournament so far to merit respect from the Indomitable Lions.

Chiquinho Conde’s side sat in and made things very tough for Ivory Coast in their opener before showing some real attacking verve in catching out Gabon in a five-goal thriller last weekend.

Back a draw in this one as Cameroon may rest a couple of players and have one eye on the other group game in the knowledge that a point may be enough for their cause.
