New York Red Bulls vs New England Revolution Predictions
New York RB suffered a 4-2 defeat away at LAFC last time out as their inconsistent form continued in the MLS, while New England secured a point away at Seattle Sounders after a 3-3 draw which moved them to within three points of their hosts this weekend.
All of the stats suggest New England are likely to pick up at least a point from Sunday’s trip to New York but with little between the two clubs this season we’re still expecting a very close and competitive ninety minutes. New England have won four of their last five matches against New York RB and four of the pair’s last seven encounters have seen both teams score and over 2.5 goals.
The form of both teams over the last month or so makes a double chance bet on the visitors look like the best way to go this weekend. New York RB have lost three of their last five matches, while New England have only lost one of their last six and the visitors haven’t been beaten in any of their last four away games. With New England proving hard to beat and performing well on the road it looks likely that Sunday’s visitors will pick up at least a point, and possibly all three, from their trip to New York.
In terms of a final score we’ve gone with a 2-1 win for New England on Sunday because both teams scored and over 2.5 goals were produced in four of New York RB’s and three of New England’s last six matches and six of the two club’s last seven head to heads have been settled by the odd goals (3-2, 1-0, 2-1, 4-3, 1-0, and 3-2).
We’re confident that a double chance bet on New England will payout this weekend and have predicted a final scoreline of 2-1. The visitors have an excellent recent record against their hosts but six of the last seven meetings between the pair have ended very tight and tense. New England are the form favourites with just one defeat from their last six matches and remain unbeaten in their last four away games in all competitions.
