      Newcastle vs Hull City Predictions

      • Both teams have scored in 16 of Newcastle’s last 19 Premier League home matches
      • Hull have yet to taste defeat in their four Premier League games this term
      • There have been 15 goals in Newcastle’s four league outings this season

Magpies have a lot to think about

Newcastle have had to readjust after Matthias Jaissle came in to manage the club following Eddie Howe’s departure and there are still signs that there is plenty of work to do.

The first couple of weeks were certainly encouraging as a late penalty denied them a victory over Liverpool in their opener before they claimed a 2-0 success at big-spending Tottenham.

However, there have been a few wobbles recently and they now have a bit to prove.

It looks as if their 2-2 draw against Bournemouth in their last home game, when they had to recover from a two-goal deficit, suggests that they may have been papering over the cracks as they were exposed frequently on what was a night to forget at Leeds on Monday.

That 4-1 defeat will have left plenty of questions to answer and that means their home game against early surprise package Hull City could prove a difficult examination.

      Tigers could take some taming

Few imagined that the Tigers would make a big impression after they limped into the Championship playoffs and then came through by beating Middlesbrough at Wembley.

However, an opening 2-0 home win over Manchester United was exactly what they needed to give them a spark and they have demonstrated they can have a good go after getting back into the Premier League.

A 1-0 win over fellow new boys Coventry followed and they then drew with both Aston Villa and Chelsea, so confidence is not going to be an issue in the camp.

They look to still be on the up while the Magpies have a lot to think about, so an instant reaction may be lacking from the home side and backing the visitors to get a positive result through the double-chance market looks a sensible way to go.

They scored twice against Manchester United and Chelsea, so there should not be a problem in the Tigers going forward, so a 2-1 away win appeals from a correct-score perspective.

Meanwhile, their Algerian midfielder Mohamed Belloumi has managed to establish himself in the top flight already.

He scored both goals in the draw at Stamford Bridge and he can boost his tally by finding the net again on Tyneside.
