Swindon’s Firepower to Punish Struggling Newport

Swindon are in good form away from home and can take advantage of an out-of-form Newport at Rodney Parade on Saturday. Swindon have won three of their last four League Two games on the road, while Newport have suffered four straight defeats at home.

Swindon are second in League Two, 20 places and 16 points above Newport, with seven wins and three defeats from their ten games this season. The hosts have won once so far.

Swindon beat Bromley 2-0 last weekend to keep up their recent winning trend, having had the game killed off by half time. Swindon were priced as evens favourites to win the game and triumphed with something to spare.

Swindon are in excellent form, having won seven of their last nine League Two matches.

Backing Newport’s opponents during their current run of seven defeats in eight League Two games would have resulted in a profit of 3.86 units.

The hosts are enduring a rough spell. Newport have lost six of their last eight League Two home matches and have only won one of their last ten league games.

They have been vulnerable defensively, failing to keep a clean sheet in 11 of their last 13 home games. Newport have gone ten League Two games without recording a shutout – their last clean sheet was against Walsall in April.

Swindon are in fine form going forward. They have scored three goals or more in four of their ten League Two games this season, and no team has scored more goals in the division than Swindon’s 21 in ten games.

Swindon to get a 2-0 away win looks a decent correct-score bet. They won the last League Two head-to-head 2-1, but at least one of the sides did not score in four of the previous six.
